This year, we are adding modern dance to McCann’s. Modern dance is defined as a style of dance that breaks away from the structured rules of ballet. It is a free and expressive way for a dancer to move. Dancers who want to take modern must be enrolled in ballet because although they are very different, modern dance uses the foundation of ballet in its technique.
We are creating a new and better student teacher lounge. We understand that some of our students are hanging out at the studio for a while some nights. We are going to make it more comfortable and functional so that students can do their school work, eat dinner, or just relax in between your dance classes.
We have three new teachers starting with us next year. Make sure you check our staff page out to learn more about them! We are excited to have them as part of our dance family!
MASTER CLASSES AT MCANN'S
We are going to provide dancers with multiple opportunities to learn from professionals throughout the year. We are asking that our ballet dancers in levels 1 - 3 sign up for at least one ballet master class. All master classes are open for levels 1 - 4. If you have questions please see Samantha.
Why should my child take a master class?
As much as the MSOD instructors love to teach our students, students tend to get comfortable with the normal routine. It is recommended that they try to take a master class as they will gain helpful insight for their dance training. Master classes are also a great time to dance for fun, which is what McCann's is all about! Sign up for these awesome opportunities!
Prices for Master Classes:
$20 per class
$50 for three classes
$65 for four classes
$80 for five classes
