During her college years, she choreographed, taught, and became the President for the dance organization, Expressions at Millersville University. Samantha has her masters degree in Early Childhood Education. Between her degree and a decade of experience working with advanced students, she is able to enjoy and properly work with all age groups at McCann’s. Currently, she is the intermediate and advanced ballet instructor, advanced hip hop instructor and the Dance Director for the school. She has taught creative movement, beginner jazz, all levels of hip hop, all levels of ballet, and contemporary. Samantha’s own training began at Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet, Harrisburg Dance Conservatory, and Pennsylvania Regional Ballet, which are all pre-professional ballet schools. In her own dance career, she has danced in numerous performances and has received lead roles such as the Sugar Plum Fairy. Samantha also received scholarships for summer intensities through Regional Dance America, which is a national dance festival. Her love of hip hop came later in life. She studied at The Edge Performing Arts in Los Angeles, California for a year. Her enthusiasm for all dance disciplines has made her into the teacher she is today. She loves the families at McCann’s School of Dance and enjoys working with them to promote a strong dance educational background.
Courtney Hurst - Studio Manager, Instructor
Courtney has been taking dance classes since she was four years old. She started at a small school called Lani's Kids in her neighborhood. When that studio closed 2002, she went to McCann's School of Dance where she was trained in ballet, tap, jazz, and hip hop. She danced at McCann's until she graduated high school and then went on to dance with a student run organization called Expressions at Millersville University. While with Expressions, she had the privilege of being the campany captain, broadway jazz, and advanced jazz teacher throughout her four years all while dancing ballet, tap, jazz, hip hop, lyrical, modern, and contemporary. Her favorite dance memory was going through tech rehearsals the week before the show with McCann's because they were able to rehearse their dances on stage in the Hershey theater without the costumes and lights and gave the girls a chance to watch other dances and have fun in the theater without the excitement and stresses of always being in performance mode. She is excited to be teaching dance at her home studio!

After college, she moved to Annapolis, MD for seven years then moved to Central PA where she has been for 11 years. Jill has had the pleasure of being a stay at home mom to three daughters, all of which had or are currently attending McCann’s School of Dance. Jill brings her creativity, love of dance and theatre, and playfulness to the classroom when teaching creative movement and beginning ballet. Most of all, her training with Mrs. McCann provides continuity in fostering creativity and the love of dance for children in their beginning years at McCann’s.
